We have a team of 20 counsellors who are all qualified or completing their training with a recognised training organisation. Our counsellors range from 23 year old to about 70! All our counsellors bring different experiences and expertise to the organisation and to share with you.
Among the specialisms offered are EMDR, Mindfulness, Bereavement, Young people, People on the Autistic Spectrum. All our counsellors are committed to offering a unique service fit to your individual needs . And work within our own values and the BAC Ethical Framework
As a charity, we have a board of trustees, who take decisions about our management and direction.
Chris Corin, Chair of Trustees
Chris has been a trustee for many years and a very active chair over the last ten years. He is proud of what the service has achieved in the past but is excited about our new identity and looks forward to Worthing Counselling Centre being able to help even more people in our community.
Chris was Head of History and Accreditation Manager at Worthing College, he has written two A level text books on modern Russia. In retirement, his interests include gardening and cricket.
Chrissy Ryder, Treasurer
Chrissy is a qualified accountant and is responsible for providing financial management and guidance to the board of trustees.
Her finance career has included the NHS, local government, the Natural History Museum and fashion! Her work experience has included senior management, strategic planning and change management. She moved from London to Worthing and loves living by the sea.

Julia is an experienced counsellor who has worked in hospital, hospice and school settings, including a forensic unit for children in care. She has also taught in several FE colleges, is a fully trained teacher, and has worked with a number of employee assistance programmes. Julia currently works as a therapist in private practice, teaches on an MA, and supervises counsellors and students.
Jack became a trustee three years ago shortly after moving to the area.
Jack spent 18 years as a secondary school teacher that included a period as a school counsellor, having been awarded a Post Graduate Diploma in Counselling from Reading University. During that time he organized a Youth Counselling Service. The rest of his working career was at Roehampton University where he lectured in Education. As part of this he taught a Masters Degree in Counselling. Now retired, he remains active as a Methodist Lay Preacher, a Governor of a local school and chairs a local action group regarding the A27.
Emma Castledine, Head of Clinical services
MA Counselling, BA (Hons), PGCCE, Diploma in Supervision, Diploma in Integrative Counselling, Diploma Mindfulness Practitioner.
BACP Registered Practitioner in Counselling and Psychotherapy.
Emma has recently moved from Nottingham and has over 7 years of supervision experience in both Health and Education sectors for both student and established practitioners.
Emma has trained counsellors from level 1 to level 6 since 2009 across Nottinghamshire, Lincolnshire and Derbyshire and has run a successful private practice for the last 6 years.
Emma is currently a personal counsellor for the University of Brighton, also specialising in bullying and harassment, ADHD and Autism.
Emma enjoys being at her beach hut, Tai Chi and music.
Annette Quinn, Supervisor
MA Counselling and Psychotherapy, Post Grad Dip. Counselling, Relate Cert Relationship Counselling, Family Counselling; Person Centred Cert. BACP Accredited, UKCP Registered Relate Register. Dip Integrative Supervision. BACP Senior Accredited Supervisor (Groups).
Annette has been a supervisor at Offington Counselling Service for the last 2 years, she has taught on Counselling Diploma and certificate courses for the last 23 years. Her counselling experience is varied, working with individuals, couples and families. She counsels for a Charity and has her own counselling and supervision practice. She was previously involved in Aviation Management and Training. Annette aims to bring a healthy integration of theory, reflexivity and creative energy to her supervision work with Worthing Counselling Centre.
Ivan Thorpe, Supervisor
Ivan Thorpe MA, PGCE. Cert. Psychodynamic Counselling. Head of Northbrook College Counselling Service (1990-2013), Course Leader & Senior Lecturer Advanced Diploma in Counselling and Therapy at Northbrook College H.E. and F.E. (1987-2017) and External Examiner. Senior Accredited Counsellor BC.P (1993-2016). UKCP registered Psychotherapist.
Ivan has been a supervisor at Offington Counselling Service since 1994 and trained many of the counsellors who have worked at the service over the years. He is the author of published articles on the relationship of client and therapist in therapy, leading workshops at UKCP conferences on the subject. He has had a private practice in Worthing for 20 years. He is also a musician and loves golf.
Corrine Corrine Samsara
Corrine is a Human Resources expert with 30years experience spanning general and strategic HR, in both public and private sectors. As an NLP practitioner and part-qualified Counsellor, Corrine uses her breadth of knowledge to support Asthma UK on a volunteer bases and in her career as HR Manager for a Worthing based Trust.
Corrine is an avid theatre lover and walker, who enjoys socialising with family and friends.
